As spring melted away to a cold winter, and then changed its mind to melt back into spring, Glyniss walked out in her garden in this huge dress that made her look like a tent.
nce upon a time, in an enchanted kingdom there lived a beautiful and kind princess by the name of Glyniss.
She would spend her afternoons braiding her hair while watching people out of the window lazily float along on boats. (here is where you look at the picture)
She would notice how happy the lovers in the boats were and longed for the day she would fall in love. She rarely left the castle since she loved her hair so much, she didn't want the wind to mess it up. Therefore Glyniss' sisters would travel abroad on their royal steeds leaving the young Glyniss behind to braid her hair and gaze out the window.
Upon one blissfully sunny afternoon Glyniss was so tired of staying in for the sake of her hair that she burst out the castle door, startling the many servants with her departure. She ran out into the fields, letting the wind mess up her hair without a single care about it. She rushed to the shore, splashing into the salty ocean.
At that very moment a prince with his entourage were visiting from another enchanted kingdom and was looking for a bride. She was on the ground as they crowded around her, and the handsome prince helped her up to her feet.
He gazed into her eyes with a dashing smile, "You are very fair, but I'm afraid that even though you are a princess, I can not marry you."
She opened her mouth in horrified shock, since it was every princess' goal to marry a handsome prince.
"Why not? Is it because we only just met a few moments ago?" she asked, as the people curiously stared at her.
"Indeed not lovely lady, but as a prince I am unable to wed a princess with a giant rat's nest for hair!" the prince explained and she let out a maidenly gasp.
"Oh sir prince!!! My hair is always in good order!! I braid it every day! I deep condition it five times a week, I wash it with expensive oils and perfumes every day! Please come back!" she cried but he and his servants had taken their leave of the castle.
"DADDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she bellowed, and the good old king came out at his daughter's call.
"Yes my dearest?" he asked her while she sprinkled the floor with her sweet tears.
"The prince wouldn't marry me because of my hair!!" she cried, looking like a very tragic maiden.
"You will get over it," the wise king told her, and as the months passed she did.
While she was out walking, another prince came by and told her he couldn't marry her since her clothes were so ugly. Again she was heart broken but once more she recovered. Alas, sweet Glyniss never married for she would always met a handsome prince when she was weeding out in the garden and covered with dirt, or grooming the horses. Poor Glyniss was simply the victim of bad timing. In time she became interested in records that other people in the kingdom had set, whether it be the longest time one had gone without bathing or the one that had slain the most flies. She began to write book after book of records, filling the entire magical world with her books. They became known as Glyniss' Books of World Records. She continued to be happy until the day she was viciously eaten by a dragon. It was again, another bout of bad timing. Glyniss was strolling around outside a hibernating dragon's den when it just happened to wake up and seek a snack. So she didn't live happily ever after as the rest of her sisters did...let us have a moment of silence for Glyniss. Ok that was long enough, the end.
